right now? let's talk about that in our clo"closing bell" exchange. steve liesman will have breaking news momentarily. steve, do you have that? >> yes, i do. what we have is a report from the new york fed on consumer finance. what the news shows is that overall, consumer credit outside of real estate is up just a bit. most of that, by the way, is student loan debt, being up about $42 billion inside that $2.7 trillion number. overall, mortgage debt is down and overall debt is down. the basic gist of the details, bill, is that consumer credit continues to decline overall. delinquencies are down and bankruptcies are down. balance sheet repair continues. a little bit more willingness of the consumer to take on some debt and a lot of it -- >> that's very interesting, steve. let me ask you something, david. >> i want to make one more point, which is that when you talk about how much the dow is down today, it should be down more because the rally we didn't have from the better economic news this morning. >> yeah, no, that was a good point. david, so we've got consumer confidence data, which

steve mathias, we were able to meet with the officer last month and we met with him at the space and we talked about a little bit of our history, what we're about, what we've done, the history of the space and what our plans are for the space. we also discussed in detail much about our security plan because we know that that's very important to the police department as well as ourselves, and a couple of those key concerns that we addressed were the security personnel, we plan to staff one security personnel for every 50 to 75 patrons, we plan to have surveillance cameras at both entrances and exits and the cameras will be wide angled cameras able to not only film what's happening at both entrances and exits but what's happening across the street, and we also plan to have both entrances and exits well lit with security patrolling 100 feet in both directions and of course adopting a solid, good neighbor policy. also, after we submitted our application, we begafn doing our neighborhood outreach, we reached out to some neighborhood groups, we reached out to david volobis from the community

's foreign minister to discuss the crisis. where are we? steve harrigan with the news live tonight from cairo. steve? >> shepard, we're hearing some pretty regular small explosions behind us right now. that is tear gas being fired. so much tear gas has been fired in this section of cairo in the past four days it's basically hanging here like a cloud. today we saw president morsey make some attempt at compromise reaching out to some of his harshest critics, the chief judges here in cairo trying to assure him that the powers that he assumed are only temporary and only apply to, quote: sovereign matters without really defining what those sovereign matters are or changing the decrees that gave him that power in any way. those moves are unlikely to satisfy the protesters out on the street and tomorrow they're planning a major march against the president. initially there was a second march planned as well. this time why the muslim brotherhood in support of the president. they cancelled that one due to fears of violence after four days of street protests here. 400 people wounded. one killed tomorro

celebrated just as enthusiastically those super bowl wins with joe montana, steve young and coming down market street. as we did with the giants a year and a half to two years ago. these were incredible inspirational opportunities we have, now hosting a super bowl. being part of a bay area effort to bring this incredibly helpful event that isn't just one few hours worth of games. there's all kinds of events that happen during super bowl week. i believe that the bulk of them will be hosted here in san francisco because this will be where we reflect strong infrastructure of tourism, where we host things and do well. this is what san francisco is about. we have an incredible committee of people that have volunteered and put forth i want to be part of this team effort to, build a bay area super bowl event that will be not only long lasting for the sports itself but with daniel's leadership and supervisor feral that's been such an incredible partner in the dialogue to help us form our ideas. and for somebody who's spnt his personal time creating the educational links between our school distr

conservation. we have steve from the engineering group. we have dan -- who i see i missed. excuse me. we have dpw who did the design for the area. we have them with the living classroom and maybe it was going to be in another area but it's going to be here at the port of san francisco and had the help of a number of agencies and the parks department and keeping as gorgeous and welcoming as it is. this part was not a park for long. originally this was supposed to be a terminal and imagine if we can containers stacked around here. instead we have a place for humans to come and enjoy, dogs to come and enjoy, the children come and learn about the natural habitat about one of the areas that is best weather wise and we are proud to reinvent ourselves and use our ability to make it all better. i would like to thank the mta with their vision and the blue green way on cargo lane and of course last but not least the park of rec and park and without them we wouldn't be here today having this great celebration and i hope you come back with your dogs, with your families and picnic and enjoy yours
